Yoichi Winery Guide 2026 | Wineries You Can Tour, Taste and Book
・

Yoichi is Hokkaido's leading wine grape region. As many as 16 wineries are clustered in the town of Yoichi alone, and in recent years their international reputation has been rising. However, only a few facilities offer public tours and tastings, so check before you visit. This article covers the facilities in Yoichi where you can actually tour and taste, and how to enjoy Domaine Takahiko wines.
About Yoichi wine: Hokkaido's leading wine region
Yoichi's wine industry has grown rapidly in recent years, winning award after award at international competitions.
Yoichi's cool climate and long summer daylight hours offer conditions well suited to growing grapes. Varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Kerner and Zweigelt grow here, and are highly regarded as delicate, mineral Hokkaido wines.
The Yoichi Wine Tourism Project lists 16 facilities (confirmed on the official Yoichi town website, 2026-06-02), and the neighboring town of Niki also has many wineries. However, most registered wineries do not accept unannounced visits or entry into their vineyards. The two main facilities offering tours and tastings to the public are Yoichi Winery (Yoichi Budoshu Jozosho) and OcciGabi.

Seasons and planning tips for winery visits
Yoichi's wineries can be visited almost all year, but the experience changes with the seasons.
Harvest season (September–October) is especially recommended. The vineyards change color, and you may get the chance to see winemaking begin up close. The aroma of wine fills the facilities, and you can strongly feel Yoichi's atmosphere as a wine region.
Spring to summer (April–August) overlaps with the tourist season, and plans combining fruit picking with winery visits are popular.
In winter (December–February), OcciGabi has a winter closure period. At Yoichi Winery, some facilities (the gallery and atelier) close from November to March, but the wine shop and tastings stay open. Be sure to check each facility's latest information before your visit*.
