Cafes Before Security

These shops are for the time between check-in and heading to security. There's plenty of choice, from light bites to full meals.

Toa Coffee-kan (domestic 2F, 8:00–20:00) is a cafe serving direct-flame roasted coffee and light meals, and it's open early enough for breakfast. The ham and cheese hot sandwich (¥500) and the chicken, avocado and cheese hot sandwich (¥590) are also available to take out. The airport's shared Wi-Fi (NewChitose_Airport_Free_Wi-Fi) is available.

Milk Stand Hokkaido Konosha (domestic 2F, 8:00–20:00) is a stand where you can compare milk from more than 15 Hokkaido farms. The farm-direct soft serve (from ¥450) and the milk tasting set featuring different farm brands (¥700) are available to take out. It's a memorable taste of Hokkaido.

Calbee+ (domestic 2F, 8:00–20:00) sells freshly fried snacks made in-store. There's no seating and it's takeout only, so it's ideal for a quick bite before boarding. Some items are only sold here, such as freshly fried Poterico and Hokkaido Imokomachi (takeout from 10:00 on weekdays and 9:00 on weekends and holidays).

The 3F Food Court (domestic 3F, before security) is a large food court with 8 outlets. Light-meal outlets open at 8:00, and places serving jingisukan (grilled lamb), ramen and the like open at 10:00. It's the widest choice if you want to eat Hokkaido food before boarding.

Shop Hours Main menu Price range
Ginshari Hokkaido 8:00–20:00 Rice balls, soba, tempura ¥250–¥730
Hanamaru Udon 8:00–20:30 Handmade udon, tempura Around ¥500
Freshness Burger 8:00–20:30 Burgers, fries Reasonable

Sapporo Ramen Daishin 10:00–20:00 Authentic miso ramen ¥1,100–¥1,300

PRONTO (domestic 4F, 7:30–22:00) is the cafe with the longest opening hours in the airport. Some seats come with 2 power outlets and USB ports (an 8-person table and counter seats), so you can work on your laptop while you wait. It serves coffee, light meals and alcohol, which makes it handy when waiting for early-morning or late flights.

MOS Burger (domestic 1F, 8:00–21:00) is on the arrivals floor. The non-smoking counter seats have 4 or more power outlets. It offers takeout and is often quieter than the departure lobby, making it a good choice if you want to eat or charge your devices in peace.

Cafes After Security (Boarding Gate Area)

Even after you pass through to the boarding gates, there are a few cafes and sweets shops. You can buy snacks and drinks right up until boarding.

CAFE GREEN Tokachi (domestic 2F, after security, 9:00–21:00) has the most seats of any cafe in the boarding gate area (about 20). The cappuccino mix soft serve (¥421 for takeout) and gâteau au chocolat are popular, and it accepts e-money and QR code payments.

Chocolatier Masale Gate Lounge (near Gate 7, 10:00–20:00) is a chocolate cafe with 14 seats. It has a New Chitose Airport-exclusive menu, and items such as Ciel (brownie with rich soft serve, ¥756 for takeout) and pain au chocolat (¥540) are also available to take out.

Snow Brand Parlor Gate Lounge (domestic 2F, after security) sells milk soft serve (¥390) and Soft Katsugen candy. The prices make it an easy pick for a light sweet just before boarding.

ANA FESTA Gate 7 (domestic 2F, after security) is popular for its rare cheese choux (¥270), a Snaffle's x ANA FESTA exclusive. Affordable and only available at the airport, it's easy to pick up along with your souvenirs.

Starbucks Coffee New Chitose Airport (connecting facility 3F, 8:00–21:00) is a popular store with Hokkaido-only merchandise, tumblers and limited menu items. However, there are no power outlets, seating is limited, and you may not find a seat when it's busy. If you need to work, PRONTO or MOS Burger is a better fit.

Snacks to Take Out or Bring on Board

On domestic flights, bento boxes, sweets and solid foods can generally be brought on board. You can also bring drinks, as long as each container is 500ml or less and the total is within 2 liters. Hot coffee is allowed too. Self-heating bento containers are classed as dangerous goods and cannot be brought on board. You may be asked to keep anything that could leak at your feet rather than in the overhead bin.
