Most of the dining in New Chitose Airport's domestic terminal is concentrated on 3F, so you can eat while waiting for your flight. The domestic terminal as a whole has about 74 restaurants and shops (as of February 2026), of which about 40 are restaurants.
The 3F "Gourmet World" is made up of three main zones. First, "Hokkaido Ramen Dojo", lined with ten famous ramen shops from around Hokkaido. Next, the "Shiden-dori restaurant street", with a wide range of restaurants serving seafood bowls, conveyor-belt sushi, soup curry, Jingisukan and more. And finally the "food court", handy when you are short on time or traveling with family.
All three areas are on 3F and are a few minutes' walk away. There are also some cafés and snack shops in the 2F area before security.
Use this map as a guide to reach the food areas of New Chitose Airport's domestic terminal. For detailed floor maps of the airport, see the airport's official website.

Domestic 3F Gourmet World has restaurants covering Hokkaido's signature cuisines. Choose according to your flight time and taste.
Ramen: the ten shops of Hokkaido Ramen Dojo
Hokkaido Ramen Dojo is a ramen floor bringing together ten well-known shops from Asahikawa, Hakodate, Sapporo and elsewhere in Hokkaido. Every shop has counter seats, so it is easy to drop in alone. Hours are generally 9:00–21:00, but vary by shop.
Here are the ten shops.
- Asahikawa Ramen Baikohken
- Ebisoba Ichigen
- Sapporo Ramen Yukiakari
- Sapporo Hien
- Keyaki (Sapporo miso)
- Teshikaga Ramen
- Hakodate Men-chubo Ajisai
- Mendokoro Shirakaba Sanso
- Menya Kaiko
- Ramen Sora
"Ebisoba Ichigen New Chitose Airport" is known for its original broth packed with the flavor of shrimp (shrimp salt, shrimp soy sauce and shrimp miso). It is a bowl you rarely find outside Hokkaido, and hours are 9:00–21:00 (officially confirmed as of May 2026).
"Teshikaga Ramen" comes from Teshikaga in eastern Hokkaido, and its hours are 9:00–21:00 (last orders 20:30) (officially confirmed as of May 2026). Limited-edition dishes appear by season or month, so the menu may change depending on when you visit.
Seafood bowls: Kikuyo Shokudo and Kantaro
For seafood bowls and conveyor-belt sushi, there are two restaurants on the Shiden-dori restaurant street.
"Ajidokoro Kikuyo Shokudo New Chitose Airport" is a seafood bowl specialist long loved at the Hakodate Morning Market. It opened in the airport in 2016 (still operating as of May 2026), and is open 11:00–21:00 every day of the year. With 60 seats inside and 24 on the terrace, 84 in all, it holds a relatively large number of people. Prices reflect fluctuating seafood prices, so check the official website or the shopfront before you go.
"Gourmet Kaiten Sushi Kantaro New Chitose Airport" is the airport branch of a conveyor-belt sushi chain based in Hakodate and southern Hokkaido (still operating as of May 2026). You order by touch panel; hours are 11:00–20:30 (last orders 20:00), with 69 seats.
At busy times you may wait about an hour. Whether one person can sit at the counter depends on seating, so ask when you arrive. Prices move with seafood prices, so check the latest at the shop.
Soup curry: lavi
"Soup Curry lavi New Chitose Airport" is a soup curry specialist near the Shiden-dori restaurant street, packed with Hokkaido vegetables (still operating as of May 2026). You can choose your spice level from 0 to 50 for free, so it suits both chili lovers and those who prefer it mild. Hours are 10:30–20:30 (last orders 20:00), and it does not take reservations.
Jingisukan: Matsuo Jingisukan
If you want a proper Jingisukan meal at the airport, "Matsuo Jingisukan New Chitose Airport" is the choice. It is the only Jingisukan restaurant in the airport where you grill on the dedicated pan as you eat (still operating as of May 2026), with 68 seats, open every day 10:00–21:00 (last orders 20:30).
It does not take reservations, so you may have to wait at busy times. Matsuo also has a set-meal counter in the food court, which suits you better if time is your priority.
How to Choose by Situation
Every traveler's situation is different. Change how you choose depending on your flight time and who you are with.
Before your flight, when time is short
If you have only 30–40 minutes before departure, make the food court your first choice. Waits after ordering are short, and it is easy to get ready to leave while you eat. The Matsuo Jingisukan food court counter and shops offering snacks and takeout are also options. The shops in Ramen Dojo can mean a short wait when busy. If you are worried about time, check the queue before going in.
When you want to take your time
If you have an hour or more before your flight, Kikuyo Shokudo or Kantaro on the Shiden-dori restaurant street, or Ramen Dojo, are good for savoring your meal. Kikuyo Shokudo, with many seats (84), turns tables relatively quickly even when busy. If you want to make the most of your last meal in Hokkaido, grilling at your own pace at the Matsuo Jingisukan restaurant is also a good choice.
Eating with children
With children, the food court is the easiest place. There is plenty of space to put your bags down while you eat, and it is easy to keep some distance from the next table. The restaurants on the Shiden-dori restaurant street also welcome families, but there are often waits at the lunch peak (12:00–13:00) and in the evening (17:00–19:00), so shifting your time makes it easier to get in.
Traveling solo
For easy solo dining, the shops in Ramen Dojo are especially suitable. Every shop has counter seats and is designed with solo diners in mind. You can also order lavi's soup curry casually at the counter.
Breakfast and Early-Morning Dining Spots

If you are taking an early flight, watch the opening times. Most restaurants open at 10:00–11:00, so if you want to eat before then, choose a place that opens early.
The earliest-opening restaurant on domestic 3F is "New Chitose Airport Restaurant by ROYAL HOST", open from 7:20 (officially confirmed as of May 2026). Alongside a mainly Western breakfast menu, it also serves local Hokkaido dishes. Hours are 7:20–20:00 (last orders 19:30).
"CAFE GREEN Tokachi", in the 2F departure lobby area before security, opens at 7:10 for early-morning café needs. You can grab coffee and a light bite quickly, so it is a handy stop after check-in.
In February 2025, "Morihico AIRPORT" opened on 3F (still operating as of May 2026). It is the airport branch of the popular Sapporo coffee shop MORIHICO., and inside it recreates the tea room "Getsuan".
You can enjoy proper coffee or Japanese tea in a calm atmosphere. Hours are 10:00–20:00 (last orders 19:00), but these may change, so check the official information before you go.
Dining Late at Night and After 23:00
The domestic terminal closes at 23:00 (this varies by season). Most restaurants close at 20:00–21:00, so take care if you are arriving on a late flight.
If you arrive assuming "you can eat at the airport 24 hours a day", you will be in trouble, so plan ahead. After 23:00, there is practically nowhere to eat in the terminal.
The restaurant in the New Chitose Airport hot spring facility on terminal 4F serves hot spring users, but it is separate from the dining facilities in the main terminal. For late-night flights, use vending machines and the convenience-store-style shops in the terminal.
Summary: Tips for Enjoying Hokkaido Flavors at New Chitose Airport
New Chitose Airport's domestic 3F Gourmet World is a rich area where Hokkaido's signature dishes — ramen, seafood bowls, soup curry and Jingisukan — are all in one place. Depending on your flight time and situation, choose whether to savor a famous shop at Ramen Dojo or eat quickly at the food court.
Early in the morning, Royal Host (from 7:20) and CAFE GREEN Tokachi (from 7:10) are open, but late at night the terminal closes at 23:00, so it is important to plan time for your meal.
